What To Watch For: Jets vs. Giants
The Green & White Set to Play the New York Giants Saturday Night

After 17 penalties versus the Falcons, the team has stressed the importance of cutting down on mistakes. This week at practice, Coach Bowles had the team run if it committed more than five penalties.

After allowing an 85-yard touchdown drive to open the game versus Atlanta, the Jets defense rebounded while holding the Falcons to 15 total yards over the next eight series. On Saturday, it faces Eli Manning and a Giants offense that has sputtered during the preseason, but the 11-year veteran will provide a nice test for Kacy Rodgers' defense.

Leonard Williams recorded 1.5 sacks including a safety in only his second career game. One player that took notice was NT Damon "Snacks" Harrison. "The guy is a beast. He is starting to pick up things a whole lot faster than we expected. I think he is as (good as) advertised."

Defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson, who had been nursing a hamstring injury since August 2nd, is set to make his preseason debut.

In two preseason games, the Jets starters have been outscored 24-3 in the first quarter. Coach Bowles and many veterans have stated their desire to see the team start fast on Saturday.

The Jets starters will get their most extended minutes of the summer. Coach Bowles told the media earlier this week they will play at least 30 minutes, depending on how many snaps they get.

"This game will tell a lot and the last game will tell a lot. There are a lot of guys vying for spots. It's an important time. Its crunch time. Guys have got to step up." – Todd Bowles

After taking a step forward in his development, Bryce Petty looks to build off a strong performance against the Falcons. "I can't get complacent," the quarterback said after posting a 109.1 passer rating Friday night at MetLife Stadium. "I can't get happy about this. I have to go back in the film room and go back to work."
