Winters played tackle at Kent State, but after being selected in the third round of the 2013 draft, Winters moved inside to play guard at the NFL level.
G Brian Winters hasn't missed an offensive snap since taking over as the starting left guard in Week 5 against Atlanta last season. That's over 832 consecutive snaps for the second-year man.
His consecutive snaps shouldn't be a surprise since he had a school-record 50 consecutive starts while at Kent State.
During training camp, he was in competition with OL Oday Aboushi, another collegiate tackle converted to a professional guard, but their link doesn't stop there. The two played in USA vs. the World exhibition game in 2009 on the same offensive line, with Aboushi at tackle and Winters playing as a guard.
G Willie Colon, who also made the transition from collegiate tackle to professional guard, has been a mentor for Winters since entering the NFL.
He enjoys country music and his favorite artist is Justin Moore.
His arms are filled with different tattoos, most of which have ties to his family. His favorite one is the saint on his right forearm which is meant to be the guardian of his family.
Besides football, he enjoys watching baseball being a fan of the Cleveland Indians.
When he has some time off of football, Winters likes to enjoy the big outdoors. He like to fish and hunt for white tail deer.
His favorite movie series is The Transformers. He said he doesn't have a particular favorite, but like the ones directed by Michael Bay.
