Ryan in Relief: Making his first start of the year, Jets QB Geno Smith suffered a knee injury midway through the second quarter when he was sacked by Ravens rush linebacker Matthew Judon. Veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick, who started the previous 22 regular season games for the Green & White, came off the sideline to lead a seven play 85-yard scoring drive that culminated with a scoring pass to RB Matt Forte. Fitzpatrick was efficient Sunday, completing 9 of 14 for 120 yards.

Reversal of Fortune: Down 16-14 in the third quarter, the Jets had reached a critical second half juncture and this time they made the play(s). Entering Week 7 with just two interceptions, the Green & White needed only a couple of minutes to double that total. CB Buster Skrine's first INT this season set up a short K Nick Folk FG and that was followed by S Marcus Gilchrist's first theft of 2016. Gilly's pick set up a wild sequence as Forté fumbled the ball away only to have star WR Brandon Marshall force a fumble by NT Timmy Jernigan and recover the loose change at the 5. Three plays later, Forté was in on the ground and the Jets had increased their advantage to 24-16.

Bunches and Bunches: Entering Week 7, the Jets had recorded just four takeaways. In a little more than a five-minute span in the third quarter, the Jets collected three takeaways as they turned a 16-14 deficit into a 24-16 advantage.

Matt on the Mark: Forté had an excellent all-around game, amassing 101 yards on 31 carries and adding 54 yards on four receptions. It was the fourth time in Forté's career that he had a TD on the ground and a TD via the air.

Ground Gains: The Jets stuck with the ground game against the NFL's top ranked rush defense, totaling 156 yards in windy conditions. Meanwhile the defense, bolstered by the return of David Harris, was stifling as the Ravens finished with just six yards on 12 carries. The six yards was a franchise low and the Ravens played behind the sticks all day. The Jets' third down defense was outstanding as the Ravens converted just 3 of 14.

Quincy Spark: Trailing 10-0 in the second quarter, the Green & White got back in the game with an explosive play.  On second and long from their own 31, Smith delivered short to WR Quincy Enunwa and Q had real estate to move.

Black and Blue: In addition to Smith departing, the Jets also lost C Nick Mangold and LB Bruce Carter to ankle and quad injuries respectively in the first half. They were replaced in the lineup by Wesley Johnson and Julian Stanford as the latter was just promoted from the practice squad on Saturday. Rookie LB Darron Lee did not suit up as he continues to deal with an ankle sprain.

Sheldon Shines: Without DE Muhammad Wilkerson in the lineup, Sheldon Richardson stepped up in a big way. Richardson was all over the field, racking up his first full sack of the 2016 season and three tackles for loss. He led the defense with eight stops. The aforementioned Stanford finished with seven tackles.
