Biography
PAT BASTIEN is in his first season with the New York Jets after joining Robert Saleh's staff as an offensive assistant in July 2022. This marks Bastien's first coaching experience in the NFL, following multiple years at the collegiate level.
Most recently, Bastien served as a linebackers coach for Toledo, after spending time at Western Kentucky in 2021 as a linebackers coach. Prior to that, Bastien held assistant coaching positions at Georgia Southern (2016-17), Southern (2018), Georgia (2018- 19), Marshall (2020) and Western Kentucky (2021). He began his coaching career at UCF as a defensive graduate assistant during the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
In 2017, Bastien was recognized by 247 Sports as a "30under30" rising star.
Prior to beginning his coaching career, Bastien was a four-time letterman at UAB from 2009-2013 and was named team captain his senior season. He graduated from UAB in May 2013 with a bachelor's degree in sports leadership.
A native of Immokalee, FL, Bastien and his wife, Deborah have five-year old twins, son Princeton and daughter Payton and a newborn son, Patrick Elijah.
