Joe Giacobbe returns for his fourth season with the New York Jets after initially joining the Jets strength and conditioning staff in 2017.
Prior to the Jets, Giacobbe spent one season at St. Peter's University (NJ) as the assistant director of athletics for athletic performance/strength and conditioning coach, tasked with designing and implementing yearround training programs for all 19 Division I sports programs at the school.
Giacobbe returned to Rutgers in 2012, serving as the football program's director of player performance and assisting the team with all aspects of both in-season and offseason training, as well as designing the rest and recovery programs.
A former walk-on at Rutgers, Giacobbe played center and nose tackle for the Scarlet Knights from 2002-06, ultimately earning a scholarship. He received the 2006 Loyal Knight award, given to the player who sacrifices his own goals for the benefit of the team.
A 2007 graduate of Rutgers, Giacobbe and his wife, Melissa, have two children, Antonio and Lucia.
