Hayes Pullard III begins his first season with the New York Jets after joining Robert Saleh's staff as a defensive assistant on January 21, 2021, his first position in the NFL after a season coaching in college football. For Pullard, he re-unites with Saleh who coached him in Jacksonville as his position coach for two seasons.
Prior to joining the Jets, Pullard spent a season at USC, his alma mater, as a defensive quality control analyst.
A former seventh-round pick by Cleveland in 2015, Pullard spent time with the Cleveland, Jacksonville, Los Angeles Chargers, Arizona and Philadelphia. In 46 career games (12 starts), he posted 111 tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery.
A starter for four seasons and two-time team captain at USC (2011-14), Pullard finished sixth in school history with 377 tackles, the first Trojan since 1979 to lead team in tackles in three seasons after he was an All-American at Crenshaw (CA) HS.
