The Jets have signed safety Ronald Martin from their practice squad and have waived nose tackle T.J. Barnes.
Martin (6'2", 220) was waived by Seattle on Sept. 6 and acquired on waivers by the Jets. The LSU product was on the opening-day roster and participated in 34 special teams plays in the first three games before he was waived Sept. 28 and re-signed to the practice squad the next day.
With Calvin Pryor and Dion Bailey both out of tonight's game against Buffalo with ankle sprains, Martin joins Marcus Gilchrist and Rontez Miles at the safety position. The Jets have added to two players to their battered secondary the past two days with the Wednesday activation of CB Dee Milliner off the short-term injured reserve list.
Barnes (6'7", 364), the big second-year nose, played in six games this season with three tackles in 32 defensive plays. He was deactivated for Game 6 at New England and for Sunday's home win over Jacksonville.
