The Jets have promoted QB Luke Falk to the active roster and waived S Bennett Jackson.
Falk, who was claimed by the Jets in May, had an impressive preseason as the Washington State product threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80.6% of his passes (29-for-36). The Green & White waived the 6'4", 215-pounder Aug. 31 and signed him back to their practice squad the next day.
The second-year signal-caller will back up Trevor Siemian Monday night when the Jets host the Browns. Starting quarterback Sam Darnold was diagnosed with mono earlier in the week and is out indefinitely.
The Green & White claimed Jackson Sept. 1. The 6'0", 192-pounder, a Notre Dame product, was originally drafted by the Giants in the sixth round of the 2014 draft and spent two seasons with New York before he played another two with the Ravens.
