Dr. Dean Padavan was named associate team internist for the New York Jets in 2014. He is board certified in both Sports Medicine and Internal Medicine.

Dr. Dean Padavan was named associate team internist for the New York Jets in 2014. He is board certified in both Sports Medicine and Internal Medicine.

He was born in Toronto, Canada, and received his undergraduate degree with honors in cell biology from the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Padavan graduated from St. George’s University School of Medicine and later completed his internship, residency, and chief residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.  During that time, he was recognized with two awards, including “Resident of the Year” and “The John O. Vieta Prize” for outstanding performance and contribution by a resident.  He completed his Sports Medicine fellowship with Atlantic Sports Health and served as fellow team physician for the Jets in 2011-12.

He currently practices Sports Medicine for the Atlantic Health System in New Jersey and has offices in Morristown and Sparta. He is also the team physician for College of St. Elizabeth in Morristown and Pope John high school in Sparta. He is a full-time faculty member for the Atlantic Sports Health Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship and is extensively involved with the academic research program.

Dr. Padavan and his wife, Sandia, have a son named Christian.
