2008(CLE) Led the Browns in receiving yards for the third season in a row…Recorded three 100-yard receiving games on the year…SEASON HIGHLIGHTS: (11/17 at BUF)…Matched a career-high with eight receptions (104 yards)…(10/19 at WAS)…Scored a two point conversion with 2:44 remaining in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to 14-1…(10/13 vs. NYG)...Set a career-high with 154 yards on five receptions (30.8avg.) and one touchdown vs. New York Giants (10/13), and also added a two-point conversion reception in the fourth quarter...(9/28 at CIN)… Capped a 13-play, 80 yard drive with a 4-yard touchdown reception from Derek Anderson to open a 10-6 lead in the fourth quarter.

◊ Played in 44 career games at Michigan from 2001-04, including 36 starts, and shattered the school’s receiving records with 252 receptions for 3,542 yards (14.1 avg.) and 39 touchdowns…Became the first Wolverine to earn the Biletnikoff Award, given to the nation’s top receiver.

◊ Broke school single-season records, as he snared 97 passes for 1,330 yards his senior season (2004) and became the only player in Big Ten Conference annals, and only the ninth in NCAA Division 1-A history, to gain over 1,000 yards receiving in a season three times…Named All-America first-team selection by The NFL Draft Report, the Associated Press, Walter Camp Football Foundation, American Football Coaches Association, Football Writers Association and College Football News…Finished tenth in the voting for the Heisman Trophy…Consensus All-Big Ten Conference first-team and Offensive Player of the Year…Winner of the Bo Schembechler Award as Michigan’s Most Valuable Player.

◊ Full name is Braylon Jamel Edwards

◊ Majored in general studies at Michigan.

◊ Father, Stanley, played football at Michigan (1977-81) and in the NFL with the Houston Oilers (1982-86) and Detroit Lions (1987).

◊ In 2007, donated $1 million to the Cleveland Municipal School District to create a college scholarship opportunity for 100 eighth-grade students, named Advance 100, as long as the students maintain a 2.5 GPA and participated in 15 hours of community service each year throughout high school…The students are now entering their junior year with 35 of them maintaining perfect GPAs of 4.0.

◊ In 2006, donated $500,000 to create a scholarship endowment at the University of Michigan for the football player who wears the No. 1 jersey, the largest donation pledged to the university by a professional athlete.

◊ Played basketball and ran track in high school.

◊ Ran track at Michigan during the indoor and outdoor season, competing in the high jump as well as the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes.
