◊ 2008 Honorable-Mention All-Big 12 coaches’ choice, finished his career with 88 tackles, three sacks and 17 tackles-for-loss in 45 games, 21 starts at defensive tackle.

◊ Steinkuhler excelled on both sides of the ball as a senior for Lincoln Southwest and Coach Mark King.

◊ As a senior, first-team Super-State pick as a linebacker by the Lincoln Journal Star while the Omaha World Herald named him a first-team All-Nebraska pick as an offensive lineman, but listed him as a first-team Class A all-state linebacker, when he recorded 163 tackles, including 98 unassisted, with an interception and a fumble recovery.

◊ Logged 134 tackles (72 solo) as a junior to earn second team Super-State honors and first-team Class A honors from the Lincoln Journal Star.

◊ The son of Sue and Dean Steinkuhler...Dean was the 1983 Lombardi Trophy and Outland Trophy winner as an offensive lineman who also played for Nebraska and has his No. 71 jersey retired. Dean was the second overall pick of the Houston Oilers in 1984 and played eight years in the NFL.

◊ Brother, Baker, is a defensive lineman at Nebraska.
