BEFORE THE NFL

■ In four seasons at Tennessee, finished 733-of-1,210 (60.6 percent) for 8,700 yards, 72 TDs and 35 INTs in 46 games (35 starts) and rushed for one TD.

■ As senior, was 325-of-519 (62.6 percent), for 3,522 yards, 31 TDs and 10 INTs in earning Draddy Award semifinal status and All-SEC honorable mention.

■ As junior, was 233-of-348 passes (66.3 percent) for 2,989 yards, 19 TDs and nine INTs, was Academic All-SEC choice and semifinalist for Manning and O’Brien awards.

■ Started five games his sophomore year, throwing for 737 yards on 66-of-145 tosses (45.5 percent) with five TDs and seven INTs.

■ Played in nine games, starting six, as true freshman, finishing 109-of-198 (55.1 percent) for 1,452 yards, 17 TDs and nine INTs, and was named Freshman All-America second team and Offensive Freshman of the Year by The Sporting News as well as Freshman All-SEC.

■ Earned 2003 Oregon Gatorade Player of the Year honors at Glencoe HS near Portland and was named to Prep Star All-America squad.

■ Grandfather, Don Ainge, was drafted by Boston Red Sox.

■ Garnered Street & Smith's Preseason All-America honorable mention as basketball guard at Glencoe HS and averaged 16.4 ppg as junior.

■ Attended Project Hope on 5/24/08 at Times Square Church, Manhattan, to greet and support U.S. military members and underprivileged youth.
