Ron Heller
Assistant Offensive Line

Ron Heller returns for his third season as the assistant offensive line coach, now working alongside new Offensive Line Coach Steve Marshall.

Last season, Heller helped integrate new RT BRENO GIACOMINI, an unrestricted free agent signing, and 2013 fifth-round selection ODAY ABOUSHI, a college tackle, into the starting lineup at left guard after BRIAN WINTERS was lost for the season with an injury. The offensive line helped pave the way for a rushing offense that produced 142.5 yards per game, the third best average in the league.

In his first season with the Jets, the offensive line saw two new starters for the first time since the 2008 campaign as the Jets finished the 2013 season as the sixth-ranked rushing offense in the league, gaining 134.9 yards per game.

Prior to joining the Jets, Heller served as the offensive line coach for the Omaha Nighthawks of the UFL. He had two seasons of NFL coaching experience as the Jaguars assistant offensive line coach (2010-11).

In 2011, the Jaguars offensive line paved the way for running back Maurice Jones-Drew, who led the NFL with a franchise-record 1,606 rushing yards.

In 2010, his group helped pave the way for the league’s third-ranked rushing offense, averaging 149.7 yards per game, and 4.7 yards per carry (fifth in the NFL), despite having just two offensive linemen start all 16 games. Jones- Drew finished the season with the fifth-most rushing yards in the NFL (1,324).

Prior to his two-year stint with the Jaguars, Heller spent four years coaching in the Canadian Football League and NFL Europe, including stops with the Amsterdam Admirals (2004, 2006-07) and Toronto Argonauts (2009).

Following his playing career, Heller was named assistant offensive line coach of the Amsterdam Admirals of NFL Europe in 2004. The team reached the World Bowl game in 2006, the same season he was promoted to offensive line coach. Heller returned to the Admirals as offensive coordinator/offensive line coach in 2007.
