Comes to the Jets after a year as a defensive assistant with the Raiders under then-Oakland Defensive Coordinator Rob Ryan, Rex Ryan’s twin brother.

◊ Coached with Rex Ryan in college at Morehead State (1990-91) and at Oklahoma (1998).

◊ Also coached collegiately at Texas A&M-Kingsville (2006), Southeastern Oklahoma State (2005), Trinity Valley (Texas) CC (2001-04), Fort Scott (Kansas) CC (2000), Glendale (Arizona) CC (1997) and Phoenix (Arizona) CC (1996).

◊ Attended training camp in 1986 as a wide receiver with the Philadelphia Eagles under Head Coach Buddy Ryan.

◊ College roommate and teammate of Rex and Rob Ryan at Southwest Oklahoma State before transferring and graduating from Northwest Oklahoma State. All-Oklahoma wide receiver in 1982 at SW Okla. and in 1985 at NW Okla.

◊ All-state receiver at College HS in Bartlesville, OK.

OFF THE FIELD

◊ Bachelor’s degree in health, physical education and recreation from Northwest Oklahoma State.

◊ Master’s degree in physical education and recreation from Morehead State.

◊ One son, Jeffery.
