■ Mike Devlin begins his fourth year on the Jets coaching staff.
■ He joined the Jets after two seasons as the offensive line coach for the Toledo Rockets of the Mid-American Conference (2004-05). In 2005 he coached an offensive line that plowed the way for the 11th-ranked offense in the country (459.2 yards/game).. He helped develop T Nick Kaczur into a third-round draft pick (2005) by the New England Patriots.
■ He began his coaching career as offensive quality control coach for the Arizona Cardinals in 2000 before being promoted to assistant offensive line coach in 2001.
PLAYING CAREER
■ Devlin was selected in the fifth round of the 1993 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills.
■ He played in 101 regular-season games over seven seasons, from 1993-95 with the Bills and from 1996-99 with the Cardinals.
■ He appeared in Super Bowl XXVIII with the Bills.
■ He earned All-America honors at the University of Iowa and was a semifinalist for the Outland Trophy as the nation’s top interior lineman in 1992.
■ He was named Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year in 1992 and was tabbed Big Ten MVP by the Chicago Tribune.
■ He earned All-America honors at Cherokee High School in Marlton, NJ, before matriculating to Iowa.
OFF THE FIELD
■ Devlin was born in Blacksburg, VA.
■ He and his wife, Julie, have four children: sons Zachary and Matthew and daughters Hallie and Carlie.
