■ Anthony Lynn comes to the Jets after spending the last six years as a running backs coach with three NFL teams —Browns (2007-08), Cowboys (2005-06) and Jaguars (2003-04).

■ In his first season at Cleveland, Lynn worked with Jamal Lewis, who finished fifth in the NFL with 1,304 yards rushing despite missing two games.

■ At Dallas Lynn oversaw the emergence of the effective duo of Julius Jones and Marion Barber III.

■ At Jacksonville under Lynn, Fred Taylor recorded two of the top four single-season rushing performances in Jaguars history.

■ He began his coaching career with the Broncos as an offensive assistant and assistant special teams coach (2000-02). The Broncos kickoff coverage units were some of the best in the AFC during Lynn's time with the team, finishing first in the conference in opponents' average drive start in 2000 (26.1), third in 2001 (26.8) and third in 2002 (27.8).

PLAYING CAREER

■ Lynn went to his first NFL training camp in 1992 with the New York Giants but was released prior to the start of the season.

■ He made Denver's 1993 roster and saw action in 13 games, mostly on special teams, then suffered a broken leg prior to the 1994 season and spent the year on the Broncos' Injured Reserve list.

■ He spent the 1995-96 seasons with the San Francisco 49ers.

■ He played three seasons (1997-99) with Denver as an H-back/special teams standout and helped the Broncos claim back-to-back Super Bowl championships following the 1997 and 1998 seasons

■ He played running back for Texas Tech, accumulating 1,911 yards and 17 touchdowns on 481 carries. As a junior, he earned All-Southwest Conference honors after rushing for 884 yards and eight scores on 224 carries but was slowed as a senior by a knee injury.

OFF THE FIELD

■ Lynn was born in McKinney, TX, and played high school football at Celina HS.

■ He has two children — D'Anton, 19, a cornerback at Penn State), and Danielle, 15.
