■ Sal Alosi begins his third season as the head strength and conditioning coach with the Jets. Alosi has implemented a unique and comprehensive approach to the Jets program that encompasses multiple training disciplines geared toward increasing sports performance and maximizing each player’s preparedness level. Additionally, he works closely with head athletic trainer John Mellody on all secondary rehabilitation programs for Jets players.

■ He returned to the Jets after spending the 2006 season directing the strength & conditioning program for the Atlanta Falcons.

■ He entered the NFL as an intern with the Jets in 2002 working under former Jets strength & conditioning coach John Lott, who is now with the Arizona Cardinals.

■ In 2003 Alosi was hired fulltime by the Jets as assistant strength & conditioning coach.

■ Prior to joining the Jets, Alosi was an assistant on the strength & conditioning staff at Hofstra University in 2001, when Hofstra won its first Atlantic 10 Conference football title and advanced to the Division I-AA playoffs for the third consecutive year.

PLAYING CAREER

■ Alosi played four years for the Hofstra Pride at linebacker, earning two Division I-AA quarterfinal playoff appearances (1999, 2000), and led Hofstra in tackles his senior year.

OFF THE FIELD

■ Alosi earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Hofstra.

■ He was raised in Massapequa, NY.

■ His younger brother, Pete, is the assistant strength & conditioning coach with the Arizona Cardinals.
