Signed by NE as a UFA on March 13, 2004.
Traded by ATL to SD (04/20/01) as a part of a package that sent the first overall pick in the 2001 NFL Draft (Michael Vick) to ATL.
Originally drafted by the ATL in the fourth round (114th overall) of the 1998 NFL Draft.
CAREER
Former Iowa star and fourth round draft choice joined the Jets this past season as an UFA following one season with NE.
In the receiving department, he has caught 172 career passes for 2,754 yards and 17 TD, while adding 17 rushes for 340 yards and three TD.
On special teams, Dwight has 202 career KOR for 4,723 yards and two TD, while adding 162 career PR for 1,573 yards and three TD.
Has played in six postseason contests, including SB XXXIII while with ATL, and has collected 12 PR for 123 yards and 15 KOR for 428 yards and one TD.
Has also participated on special teams coverage units throughout his career.
2006 SEASON (JETS)
Placed on IR prior to the week 13 win at GB.
Returned two punts for 12 yards and caught one pass for nine yards in the week 12 win vs. HOU.
Recorded the longest rush of the season to date for the Jets when he ran for 28 yards. He also caught five passes for 40 yards and returned two punts for 27 yards in the week 11 loss vs. CHI.
Caught two passes for 14 yards and returned one punt for 15 yards in the week 10 win at NE.
Returned four punts for 55 yards, including an 18-yard return, his longest as a Jet, in the week eight loss at CLE.
Started for the second consecutive week and caught one pass for four yards in the week seven win vs. DET.
Made his first start as a Jet and caught three passes for nine yards, rushed once for no gain and returned two punts for six yards in the week six win vs. MIA.
Recorded two fair catches on punt returns in the week two loss at JAX.

2005 SEASON (NE)
Played in all 16 regular season games, making one start, and had 19 receptions for 332 yards for a 17.5 average with three TD in the receiving department.
Served as the Patriots’ primary PR specialist, with 32 returns for 273 yards for an 8.5 PR average. Also added 10 KOR for 250 yards (25.0 avg.) with a long of 38 yards.
Played in both of the Patriots’ playoff games, seeing the majority of his action on special teams.
In AFC Divisional Playoff loss at DEN, he had three PR for 37 yards, including a 27-yarder in the second quarter.
In an AFC Wild Card game, he had four PR for 31 yards in the win over JAX.
In the season finale against MIA, he snared two receptions for 26 yards and a TD.
In game 14 he saw action in a reserve role at WR in a shutout victory over TB. He returned a punt 10 yards in the second quarter and set up the second TD of the afternoon with a 27-yard catch down to the 6-yard line in the second quarter.
In game 11 at KC, he tied for the team lead with five receptions and led the team with 76 receiving yards and also rushed the ball twice for 17 yards.
Started at WR in the game 10 win over NO and returned a punt for 23 yards in the second quarter. Also had two KOR for 36 yards in the victory.
In game nine at MIA he finished second on the team with 70 receiving yards on three receptions in the victory.
Had a 29-yard PR vs. IND in the game eight loss.
In game six loss at DEN he kept a scoring drive alive with a 49-yard reception on third-and-eight in the third quarter and had six PR for 38 yards.
In a game four loss to SD he grabbed two receptions for 41 yards and a TD and also returned one punt for eight yards.
At PIT in game three he had four PR for 55 yards in the victory.
In the game two loss at CAR he caught two passes for 32 yards.
In the season opening win vs. OAK he hauled in his only catch of the game, a 5-yard TD pass from Tom Brady. He had four PR for 44 yards and collected a 27- yard PR in the first quarter. It was the longest PR by a Patriot since the 2002 season, when Deion Branch had a 40-yard PR against DEN on Oct. 27, 2002.
2004 SEASON (SD)
Played in 12 games for the Chargers, accumulating 1,222 yards on 50 KOR with one TD.
Saw time as the primary PR against NYJ in the AFC Wild Card game loss and also handled five KOR for a 17 yard average.
Against NO in the game nine win he had a career-long 48-yard run on a reverse that helped set up a first-quarter TD.
In game eight against OAK he caught his first TD pass of the season from 23 yards out and notched a 50-yard KOR to open the second half to help set up a TD. He also tied for the team high with two special teams tackles.
In the game three loss against the NYJ he provided a spark with an 87-yard kickoff return for TD. It was his third career KOR for a TD and his first since Super Bowl XXXIII. It was also the team’s first TD on a KOR since Nov. 8, 2001.
2003 SEASON (SD)
Played in nine games and started three while averaging 13.8 yards on 14 receptions on the season and 22 KOR for 488 yards.
Was IA at CIN for game 10 before being placed on IR on 11/26. • Against MIN in game nine he registered a season-high 48 yards receiving while tying his season-high with three catches, including a season-long 32-yard catch on the Chargers' final TD drive.
Averaged a season-high 25.8 yards on four KOR against KC in game three. In game two he accounted for a season-high 174 all-purpose yards, including 28 yards rushing, 19 yards receiving and 127 yards on KOR. His 28 rushing yards on two carries against DEN was a season-high.
2002 SEASON (SD)
Played in all 16 games and started 14 at WR for the Chargers.
Registered a career-high 50 catches for 623 yards on the season.
Turned in a solid effort with a season-high six catches for 63 yards and one TD in a week 16 loss at KC and notched three PR for a season-high 70 yards.
In week 15 at BUF he led the team with five catches for 81 yards, including a season-long 42-yard catch in the loss.
In week 14 at OAK he notched a season-long 37-yard PR.
In week 11 vs. SF he matched his then season-high with five catches for 64 yards, including a seven-yard catch on fourth down during the game-tying drive late in the fourth quarter and a 19-yard catch on third down on the game-winning drive in OT.
At OAK in week seven he led the team with 75 yards receiving on four catches, catching passes for 25 and 11 yards on successive third-and-ten plays to set up a TD on the game-winning drive in OT.
In game six at KC he scored his first two TD of the season, first on a 19-yard TD on a reverse and then an 11-yard TD reception in the fourth quarter. He also registered two rushes for career-best 37 yards.
In game one at CIN he registered a 20-yard rush on a reverse.
2001 SEASON (SD)
Registered 406 yards on 36 receptions on the season.
In week 14 at SEA he led the team with five receptions for 59 yards.
Scored his first rushing TD of the season and second of his career on a career-long 16-yard run against DAL in week three. He also notched a career-long 78-yard reception.
In the opening week of the season against WAS he earned the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after registering an 84-yard punt return for a TD, which tied for the sixth-longest punt return in team history.
2000 SEASON (ATL)
Led ATL with a 15.6 yards per catch average on the season.
In week two at DEN he amassed a career-high 264 all-purpose yards with six KOR for 149 yards, three PR for 50 yards, two catches for 60 yards and two rushes for five yards.
In game three vs. PHI he tied his career long with a 70- yard punt return for TD.
Caught a 52-yard touchdown pass, the team’s longest scoring pass play of the season in week seven vs. NO.
1999 SEASON (ATL)
Led the Falcons with seven TD catches and nine total TD.
His average of 20.9 yards per catch was the second-highest single season total in team history.
In week three against DAL he caught a 45-yard TD pass.
In week eight at CAR he recorded his first career two TD game with 35-yard and four-yard scoring catches.
Scored his first career rushing TD on an 8-yard carry in week 12.
Had his first career 100-yard receiving game with five catches for 102 yards in week 14 vs. CAR.
Snagged a 48-yard TD catch against NO in week 15.
In the season finale vs. SF he racked up a career-high seven catches for 162 receiving yards, including a four-yard TD and a career-long 60-yard score and added a 70-yard punt return for a TD and earned NFC Special Teams Player of Week honors.
1998 SEASON (ATL)
As a rookie he excelled on KOR and PR, totaling 973 yards and one TD on 36 KOR and 263 yards on 31 PR.
Against DEN in Super Bowl XXXIII, he capped off an outstanding rookie season with 94-yard KOR for a TD in Super Bowl XXXIII, the fourth-longest return in Super Bowl history. Also totaled 210 KOR yards versus the Broncos, the fourth-most in Super Bowl history.
Set a Falcons playoff record for longest PR with a 36-yard return in the divisional playoff game against SF.
In week five at CAR he had a 93 yard KOR for a TD, earning NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors.
In the season opener against CAR he caught a 44-yard TD pass in his first career game.
