Named Kansas State’s “Lifter of the Year,” as well as being selected team captain by his teammates in 2003.
Attended Wichita (Kan.) High, where he was named First-team All-State pick by the Topeka Capital-Journal and Wichita Eagle, adding USA Today honorable mention All-USA recognition, All-City choice as a RB and FS, and honorable mention All-Class 6A defensive accolades in 1998.
