The scrappy Yohn was quickly signed by the Jets after he got his release from the Baltimore Colts. Although he missed most of the club's pre-season workouts, Yohn immediately made his presence known with his hustling play. Chief Pilot Weeb Ewbank was delighted to get Yohn. He is aware of Yohn's all-out play when Yohn was a rookie last season with the Colts. Ewbank has high hopes for Yohn who battled his way into contention for a first string linebacking job. He impressed the coaching staff with his hard, crisp tackling. Although he played for a small school, Yohn was named All-Pennsylvania center and linebacker his final year at Gettysburg. He played three years of service ball and starred with the Quantico Marines and the San Diego Marines.
