The Jets really landed a big one when they got George Strugar last year from the Pittsburgh Steelers. At 6~5, 260, Strugar is the second biggest player on the squad. He has good defensive know~how and speed and has the potential of being one of the outstanding tackles in the league. Strugar was originally tapped by the Los Angeles Rams in 1957 and was a key member of their defensive line for five years. He was traded to the Steelers last year but moved over to New York as a free agent. He immediately was inserted at left tackle and bolstered the defensive line. Strugar moves well for his size and knows how to exert pressure on the opposing quarterbacks. Strugar makes his home in Los Angeles where he lives with his wife, Jan, and looks-over his own trucking company, Rams Express.
