Bert Rechichar - #44 - LB - Tennessee - Profile

Bert is one of the top place-kicking specialists in pro football. The Titans acquired Rechichar's contract last summer, after he obtained his release from the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Tennessee all-star was the first draft choice of the Cleveland Browns in 1952. Traded to the Baltimore Colts in 1953, he saw duty as an end, punter and kick-return man, as well as place-kicker. Bert played in three Pro Bowl games from 1956-'58, and was voted the Most Valuable Player in the '57 classic. The versatile nine-year veteran holds the NFL mark for the longest field goal, with a booming 56-yard boot. He's also recorded kicks of 52 and 48 yards. Bert lives in Vernon, Pa.
