Jack Klotz - #78 - T - Penn Military - Profile

Before pre-season training was finished Coach Weeb Ewbank noticed a vast improvement in big Jack Klotz. The first thing he noticed was that Klotz grew. Klotz applied himself and soaked up everything in the way of knowledge which pleased Ewbank.  The solidly built lineman was ticketed for duty last season as a reserve tackle. He was sent to the San Diego Chargers before the end of the season but reacquired by New York. Despite his bulk, Klotz possesses good speed. Because of his size and potential, Klotz was on the New York roster in its first year in 1960. Klotz was a little All-American at Penn. Military College in 1956. He later played with the San Diego Marine Base which was undefeated in 1957 and 1958. In '59, Klotz played in the Canadian League before coming to New York.
