Thurlow Cooper - #88 - TE-DE - Maine - Profile

With the great combination of Powell and Maynard taking care of most of the pass-catching duties, thundering Thurlow has been used primarily as a blocking end. But he has also demonstrated on more than one occasion his ability to catch passes. Cooper made 8 receptions in 1960, 3 for TDs. The fact that the big end cannot be ignored as an offensive threat prevents the opposition from overplaying Powell or Maynard and makes the Titan receivers still more dangerous. Cooper played one year with the Giants and two in Canada, following a star-studded college career. A former All-Maine, All-Yankee Conference, and All-New England gridder, Thurlow is a teacher-coach in Portland, Me., during the off-season.
