The New York Jets have waived DB Nate Lyles. The announcement was made by Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Lyles (6'0", 199), a three-year starter at safety for Virginia, finished with 160 tackles and four interceptions for his career and had 68 tackles as a senior. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Jets on May 2, was waived on July 22 and was re-signed on July 31.
