The New York Jets have signed free agent safety Cameron Worrell. The announcement was made by Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Worrell (5'11", 194), a five-year NFL veteran, spent the 2007 season with the Miami Dolphins, appearing in 12 games, making seven starts and collecting 56 tackles.

He entered the NFL with Chicago as an undrafted free agent in 2003, appearing in 46 games in four seasons for the Bears and recording 20 tackles, two sacks, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries on defense along with 45 special teams tackles. He also appeared in three postseason games in 2006, including Super Bowl XLI.

At Fresno State, Worrell was an All-WAC first-team safety.
