EA: Combine Preview to Air Tuesday

Posted Feb 12, 2014

Bracing for another major nor’easter, we have moved our “Jets Talk LIVE” Combine special to next Tuesday.  The program will start at 2:00 PM as I will be joined by both offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg and defensive coordinator Dennis Thurman in addition to Rich Cirminiello of Campus Insiders.

If you have questions for DT and/or Marty, you can send them to me on Twitter: @eallenjets.   Cirminiello, who has provided astute analysis of the top prospects on NYJets.com for years, will be on set to take your calls live.  Our JTL number is 855-909-5483 (LIVE) and we anticipate a busy afternoon talking the draft.

Headed to the Heartland

Our NFL Combine coverage commences next Thursday as both general manager John Idzik and head coach Rex Ryan are scheduled to address the media.   Our goal is to provide you a little bit of a different perspective this year as we attempt to go behind the scenes with a couple of mic’d up sessions with key Jets personnel.

What is a day like in Indy?  What are the pundits saying about the prospects and the Jets?  And what will some of the top end skill position talent have to say next Friday?

Next week, we will have some answers.

Sheldon Supportive of Sam

The sports world has been abuzz since Missouri defender Michael Sam publicly announced that he was gay. NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Sheldon Richardson, who played alongside Sam and shared a house with his former Tiger teammate, told SNY’s Jeanne Coakley that Sam is his “homeboy.”

"He was a great teammate, a great person," Richardson said. "If guys [in the NFL] can't get past that, then, I mean, it's just crazy. You wanted a football player, you got the football player. I promise you his sexuality has nothing to do with him playing on the football field. He is a completely different person [on the field]. He puts this face on, no smiles, serious business. He's a killer."
