What Draft Picks Do the Jets Own?

GM Mike Maccagnan States Club Will Again Be Open for Business

The National Football League has released the final list of this year’s draft picks.

With all the compensatory picks awarded and the tiebreakers decided, the Jets know exactly when they will selecting in each round. It would be safe to assume this will change on draft weekend though as general manager Mike Maccagnan made five trades during the 2017 NFL Draft, turning four picks into seven.

“Last year, I think we used the term open for business. That was a good catchphrase if you guys want to do some marketing for us again this year, we’re probably in that market again,” Maccagnan told reporters at the Combine. “The thing that excites me most about the draft is there’s so many different things that could potentially happen.”

With two picks in Round 2, the Jets currently are scheduled to have eight selections including three in the top 49.

“We have no qualms about potentially moving up. We’d have no qualms about sitting where we are and taking a player. We have no issue potentially moving back and, if not at the top, at any pick of the draft,” Maccagnan said. “It’s going to be exciting to see what happens and how this class comes together as we continue our evaluation process. We’re definitely looking to be active during the draft and do something or anything that will help us build this thing moving forward.”
