Selected quotes from the Jets' and Dolphins' locker rooms after the Jets' 31-28 fall-from-ahead loss at Hard Rock Stadium this afternoon:

Head coach Todd Bowles on the way the Jets lost their 14-point fourth-quarter lead...
"We had a chance to finish and we didn't finish. Too many mistakes, too many blunders. At some point we've got to develop some killer instinct to finish the ballgame."

**

QB Josh McCown on what happened on he threw from the Jets 15 with 39 seconds to play...**

"The coverage spun back a little late. I was throwing to a spot. I thought Jermaine [Kearse] would be in. They pushed to it and made a good read. It's just frustrating. I can't do that to our team."

McCown on if the Jets can fight to get back to .500 next Sunday at home vs. Atlanta...
"I just think it's the collective character of the group. We'll come back in tomorrow, we'll look at this tape, we'll clean it up, move forward and get ready to play Atlanta and move on. We're a young group but we've got a lot of resolve within this team and we fully expect to bounce back."

Jets WR Jermaine Kearse on how this defeat is to take...
"Especially when we have a lead like that, we've just got to learn to finish games, and that's what it comes down to. We're going to have ups and downs, and unfortunately we have the down part now. We've just got to continue to get better, look ourselves in the mirror. We can't just hang our heads on this."

LB Darron Lee on what happened to the Jets in the game's final 15 minutes...
"Yeah, that's all on us. We've got to finish the ballgame. It starts with me. I take it on myself as a leader. I've got to play better and help us out of situations like that. I've got to take it on me. I've got to make more plays."

TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins on his touchdown catch to put the Jets ahead 28-14...
"The touchdown was a great ball by Josh, moving the coverage to the right. I posted up, he threw a great ball. But at the end of the day, when you don't win, it's tough to look at it like that. We have to get back on Monday, we have to clean this stuff up. We've got to finish better than that."

DL Muhammad Wilkerson on the Jets' pass rush vs. the Dolphins...
"We got some hits on them, but at the end of the day we lost the game. It's not even about the pass rush, it's about us, all 11 guys on defense, offense and special teams executing their jobs. And we didn't do that."

RB Matt Forte on where the Jets' offense went in the fourth quarter...
"We didn't play ball, it's pretty plain and simple. It wasn't something that they were particularly doing. We had penalties in the fourth quarter, we had turnovers in the fourth quarter, we had lack of execution in the fourth quarter, and if you finish a game like that, no matter how close the game is, you're going to struggle. Most times, if it's within two scores, you're going to give the game away."

Dolphins head coach Adam Gase on the Jets' run defense, which held Miami to 53 rush yards...
"With the run game, every time we play these guys it's tough. Any time you play a division game, upfront, those linebackers are playing well right now. I know nobody is really talking about those guys, but it's not like we've ever really played those guys and ripped off a great running game. Even when we played them here last year, our two runs that gave us what looked like good numbers were the last two runs of the game, and they were really kind of gadget-type runs. So they've always played us tough. They played us tough again today. We tried to stay committed to the run and see if we can pop one of those things off. Those guys are tough."
