Posted Jan 1, 2018

7 Are Offensive Players, Including WR Jalin Marshall; 2 Are Defenders, Including DL Claude Pelon

The Jets have signed nine players — four wideouts, seven offensive players in all, and all members of the team's practice squad at season's end — to Reserve/Future contracts.

G Ben Braden, Michigan (6'6", 329)
Braden joined the Jets as an undrafted free agent after the 2017 draft. He played in all four preseason games, getting 89 offensive snaps, then was waived, and returned to the team to spend all 17 regular-season weeks on the practice squad.

T Korren Kirven, Alabama (6'4", 315)
Kirven, a starter for the Crimson Tide at the end of the 2016 season, spent the offseason and preseason with Tampa Bay, was on Cleveland's practice squad for a month, then signed with the Jets' P-squad on Dec. 15.

WR Jalin Marshall, Ohio State (5'10", 200)
Marshall signed as a UDFA with the Jets after the 2016 draft and saw action in 10 games that season with 14 receptions for 162 yards and two touchdowns plus 18 punt returns and 13 kickoff returns. He began this season on NFL suspension for four games, then was ultimately signed to the practice squad on Oct. 18.

WR Tre McBride, William & Mary (6'0", 210)
McBride was Tennessee's seventh-round draft choice (No. 245 overall) in 2015, spent time with Chicago earlier this season, signed with the Jets' practice squad on Dec. 1, and was designated Practice Squad/Injured a week later. He has 10 receptions for 152 yards and one TD in 17 NFL games (three starts).

DL Claude Pelon, Southern California (6'4", 300)
Pelon came to the Jets as a UDFA after the '16 draft, played in all four preseason games that year, and spent six weeks on the Jets' practice squad. This year he again played in all four preseason games and also got 17 snaps on defense in the season opener at Buffalo before being waived and brought back again to the P-squad on Sept. 18. He was designated Practice Squad/Injured on Dec. 1.

DB Terrell Sinkfield, Northern Iowa (6'1", 195)
Sinkfield signed as a UDFA with Miami after the 2013 draft. Although he hasn't yet played in an NFL regular-season game, he spent time with the Dolphins, Packers, Bills, Giants and Vikings before signing with the Jets' practice squad on Sept. 4 and spending the entire 2017 season there.

QB Joel Stave, Wisconsin (6'4", 230)
Stave, after playing four seasons for Wisconsin, was an undrafted free agent who signed with Minnesota after the 2016 draft and bounced from the Vikings to the Seahawks, the Chiefs and Redskins. After Josh McCown's hand injury, the Jets' signed Stave to their practice squad on Dec. 12.

WR Damore'ea Stringfellow, Mississippi (6'2", 222)
Stringfellow was a UDFA signed by Miami after the '17 draft. The Jets acquired him on waivers from the Dolphins on Sept. 3, waived him three days later, then re-signed him Sept. 7 to the practice squad, where he spent all of 2017.

WR Daniel Williams, Jackson State (6'2", 234)
Williams was signed by the Jets on Aug. 14, saw limited action in the preseason finale vs. Philadelphia, was waived on Sept. 2, then returned to the Green & White via the practice squad this past Saturday.
