Report: Chris Johnson Visiting Jets Today

Posted Apr 15, 2014

Free agent running back Chris Johnson is visiting the Jets offices today, according to reports on ESPN and elsewhere.

Johnson, a.k.a. CJ2K for his dynamic 2,006-yard rushing campaign in his second season with Tennessee in 2009, was released by the Titans last week. For his six-year NFL career he has 1,742 carries for 7,965 yards (4.6-yard avg.) and 50 touchdowns. He's also an accomplished receiver out of the backfield with 272 catches for 2,003 yards (7.4-yard avg.) and eight TDs.

With six 1,000-yard rushing seasons in his six years, Johnson remains on pace for the NFL record for most consecutive 1,000-yard seasons from the start of a career, held by Barry Sanders with the Lions and Curtis Martin with the Jets at 10 seasons each.
