TIFFANY: An Amazing Makeup Secret

Posted Apr 9, 2013

Hey, Flight Crew Fans!

Ever wanted to look like a movie star without having to spend lots of money on a makeup service? Here’s the secret: the Beauty Blender.

This ultimate makeup sponge is a teardrop-shaped applicator that blends your foundation to a flawless finish and reaches all of the hard-to-catch spots due to its unique shape. I use MAC Pro Longwear, and when using the Beauty Blender, my foundation applies like a dream and has that airbrushed finish! My foundation goes on so flawlessly and even, making it easy to build up coverage on the areas you need it but avoiding a caked-on look on the areas you don't. I find that my foundation lasts longer, looks less oily, and there’s less need for blotting or touching up.

About six months ago, I ordered my Beauty Blender from Sephora and I am so happy that I did! The perfect word to describe this sponge is AMAZING. Not only is the Beauty Blender simple to use, but the sponge cleans easily with antibacterial hand soap or the specially formulated Blender Cleanser. Here is a quick tutorial on how to use it to apply your foundation!

Step 1 — Take the Beauty Blender sponge and run it under lukewarm water for 20-30 seconds. When saturated with water, the sponge will expand to twice its size, making it easy to cover your whole face and still get into all the nooks and crannies. Using the sponge damp prevents it from absorbing excess foundation, so you won’t be wasting any makeup.

Step 2 — Place a dab of concealer that is being applied on the top on your hand. Take the Beauty Blender sponge using the pointed end and dip it into your makeup. Pat the sponge on the area where you want the makeup application. Do not swipe or circle; keep dabbing the sponge on your face so you can evenly blend it out. Then repeat with your foundation but using the bottom part of the sponge.

Step 3 — Go out and enjoy your flawless airbrushed face!

Also, here’s a bonus beauty secret! My mother has always taught me to wash my hands before eating, so it would only make sense to use this frame of mind while applying makeup to your face! I advise you to make sure your Beauty Blender is clean before using. Hygiene is a must when it comes to keeping your skin fresh and healthy. Oil and dirt from your face will stay on your applicators if you don’t take a moment to properly clean them, both before and after using them!
