KARI: Some Valentine's Gifts from the Heart

Posted Feb 12, 2013

Hey, Jets Fans! It’s Kari from the Flight Crew Cheerleaders!

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. The definition of a valentine is a card or message, usually amatory or sentimental but sometimes satirical or comical, or a token or gift sent by one person to another on Valentine’s Day, sometimes anonymously. Valentine’s Day is not about spending a lot of money, it’s about showing and telling that special someone you care about them. Try these three easy and inexpensive gifts!

52 Reasons Why I Love You!

Things you’ll need: A deck of cards, scrapbook paper or construction paper, glue, scissors, hole puncher, something to write with, and binder rings.

Here’s how you do it: Glue each of the 52 cards to the scrapbook paper or construction paper. Cut them each out and punch two holes in each card (one on top and one on the bottom). Write a reason why you love your Valentine on each of the cards. Be creative!

Heart Attack in a Box

Things you’ll need: Paper, scissors, little box, pictures, something to write with.

Here’s how you do it: Cut out different size hearts. On some of the hearts you can write a note, glue a picture, or even leave them blank. Be sure to get creative with this one, too! When you’re all finished, place all the hearts in a box. Voilà, you have a Valentine’s Day present from the heart!

Special Dessert Treat

Things you’ll need: Sliced or cut-up fruit, a glass bowl, forks, and chocolate (try the melting disks of chocolate from Michael’s).

Here’s how you do it: Pour some of the disks into the glass bowl and heat in the microwave. The chocolate will become melted. Now use your fork and choose your fruit. Dip away and enjoy chocolate covered fruit with your Valentine!

Good luck and enjoy your Valentine’s Day!

—Love, Kari
