Posted Dec 6, 2012

The New York Jets have signed safety Antonio Allen from the practice squad to the active roster and have signed cornerback Donnie Fletcher to the practice squad. The announcements were made by general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Allen (6'1", 210) entered the NFL as a seventh-round selection by the Jets in the 2012 draft. He was waived following the preseason on Sept. 1, then signed to the practice squad the next day. He played in three games after he was signed from the practice squad on Oct. 12 and contributed two tackles, a sack and a special teams fumble recovery before he was waived Nov. 6 and re-signed to the practice squad two days later.

Fletcher (6'1", 195) entered the NFL after signing with the Jets as an undrafted free agent on May 4. He joined their practice squad on Sept. 1 after he was waived following training camp. The Jets signed Fletcher to the active roster from the practice squad on Sept. 22 for their game at Miami, then waived him the following day and re-signed him to the practice squad on Sept. 25. He was released on Oct. 2, then rejoined the practice squad on Oct. 17, was signed to the active roster on Nov. 22 and appeared against New England and Arizona before being waived Tuesday.
