The New York Jets and New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) Charitable Foundation have teamed up with the New York City Department of Education to support their C.H.A.M.P.S. middle school flag football program. The program, titled the New York Jets C.H.A.M.P.S. Middle School Flag Football League presented by NYMEX Charitable Foundation, provides over 75 middle schools with afterschool opportunities for their students to learn the skills and techniques of football from qualified coaches. Each participant will receive a T-shirt uniform provided by the Jets and NYMEX Charitable Foundation.
In 2005, the DOE and the New York Jets created the Heads Up! program to support New York City public school football. The Jets C.H.A.M.P.S. Middle School Flag Football League presented by NYMEX Charitable Foundation is a subsidiary of the Heads Up! program.
