Some Thoughts on Why NOT to Reseed

File Under: Chad Pennington, Wayne Chrebet, Jets Giants, playoff reseeding, league meetings

The NFL's competition committee is set to present playoff reseeding at next week's league meetings in Florida, and on the face of it, it seems like a good idea: Give the wild-card team the home field in a wild-card matchup if it has the better record than its division-winning opponent.

Wayne Chrebet One More Time

File Under: video, Wayne Chrebet, Laveranues Coles, Karen Keyes, No. 80

For all the fans and No. 80 wearers who have contacted me and others here in the Jets organization, today is your lucky day. Our Wayne Chrebet Day video is now live on newyorkjets.com.

Words of Wisdom with Greg Buttle

File Under: Dolphins, Chad Pennington, Wayne Chrebet, Greg Buttle

This is a big day for the Jets in a lot of ways. It's Wayne Chrebet Day, and No. 80 is in the house and getting ready for the halftime ceremonies to remember his career in green and white.

"Someone will speak, and then I'll speak, which'll be real short," Wayne told me. "I'm not sure what I'm going to say, but I just need to let all the people who were there for me know how appreciative my family… More

Stimulating Talk on LC Street

File Under: Wayne Chrebet, Laveranues Coles, Kellen Clemens, Jason Taylor, D'Brickashaw Ferguson

"Quiet locker room," one reporter observed today. And at that moment it was a fairly tranquil area — except down on Laveranues Coles Boulevard

Media types hung out in Coles' wing for a while, because LC has become an MC of sorts, definitely one of those "go-to" guys that beatwriters feel the need to, well, go to.

Today Coles fielded questions on Wayne Chrebet, who has been, after all, his clos… More
