Weathering the Storm with a Brisk Practice

File Under: Snow, Eric Barton, Brandon Moore, Brett Favre, Tony Richardson, Dwight Lowery, Seattle Seahawks

The postpractice report today is that the Jets had some fun and did some hard work in the snow and it was a real team effort to get the players ready in their last practice before flying out to Seattle to play the Seahawks on Sunday.

The fun was evident during the half-hour media period as a number of players balled up the good-packing snow falling steadily on their outdoor turf field and let the… More

Questions of Give and Take ... and Snow

File Under: giveaways, Snow, Chad Pennington, Darrelle Revis, Kerry Rhodes, Abram Elam, takeaways, Calvin Pace, Seneca Wallace, Rob Fulmer

The major snowstorm has begun. I got here to my ringside seat at the Atlantic Health Training Center early this morning before the flakes had begun to fall. But shortly after 9 a.m. EST they arrived. They fell slowly at first, then faster and less vertically, more horizontally.

Now it's about 11 a.m. and the turf field outside my window is mostly white, with the yardlines still visible but the st… More

Mangini on Pro Bowl, Nicknames, Destiny

File Under: Snow, Eric Mangini, Dave Hutchinson, Erik Boland, Bob Glauber, Qwest Field

The tone at times was lighthearted at Eric Mangini's news conference today, and in part that was due to the afterglow of getting seven of the head coach's players to Hawaii for the Feb. 8 Pro Bowl.

"I was really happy for them," Mangini said, beaming, in his first remarks since the NFL announced the Green & White bonanza Tuesday afternoon. "There's recognition outside our room that we have a good… More

Today's Practice Is Elemental

File Under: Snow, Eric Mangini, New England, Sean Ryan, Sione Pouha, Joe Kowalewski, Gillette Stadium

The sleet started to click off my second-floor window here at the Weeb around 10 this morning. Soon the wet snow started to float down. You could see some fat flakes on the heads of players who would go outside and then come back into the locker room.

One player was hopeful the Jets' practice would be moved into the practice bubble. But that was so Miami week. As an equipment man told him: "It's … More

Jets-Cowboys: Second Quarter

File Under: Snow, Matt Chatham, Tony Romo, Jason Witten

Snow has actually begun to drift lightly down through the hole in the Texas Stadium roof, although it's not reaching the field.

So slippery footing isn't the excuse when Tony Romo finds TE Jason Witten past Matt Chatham, just in the game at OLB, and too far away from Kerry Rhodes. It's a 25-yard scoring pass, Witten's sixth of the season. And while it's too early for the Jets to throw in the to… More
