Jets Waive Punter Ben Graham

File Under: Eric Mangini, waived, Ben Graham, Paul Raymond

The Jets have announced this evening that punter Ben Graham has been waived.

It was a difficult ending to a rough start to the season for the Thunder from Down Under. In the home opener against New England on Sunday, Graham had one of the most ineffective days in his fourth season as the Jets punter. His four punts netted 27.3 yards and the Patriots' ensuing drives after all four kicks started on… More

C.J. Sure Chad Wants Opener 'Very, Very Bad'

File Under: Chad Pennington, Brett Ratliff, C.J. Mosley, David Clowney, Jesse Chatman, Paul Raymond, Ira Lieberfarb

C.J. Mosley had another decent preseason showing in Philadelphia. The D-lineman was credited with a late pass defense at the line, played an early screen pass perfectly for another incompletion, and chased A.J. Feeley out of the pocket and forcing the Eagles' third QB to unload a pass that was picked off by Abram Elam.

"You just want to get in the game and make a play any chance you get," said Mo… More

Jets-Eagles: First Half

File Under: Kellen Clemens, Brett Ratliff, David Clowney, Jesse Chatman, Paul Raymond

The starting QB matchup is Kellen Clemens vs. Kevin Kolb as expected. But while Kolb plays through the first half, Clemens goes only one series, then gives way to Brett Ratliff, who then returns the ball to Clemens for the third drive.

But one player who looks as if he'll be seeing a lot of action tonight is RB Jesse Chatman. With Thomas Jones and Leon Washington sitting on the sideline and with … More

Positives Help Overcome the Penalties

File Under: Eric Mangini, Drew Coleman, Brett Ratliff, D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Abram Elam, Alan Faneca, Paul Raymond

The Jets' 10-7 victory over the Giants was a green and white kaleidoscope. Turn it one way and there were some appealing patterns: an outstanding pass rush against the defending Super Bowl champions, a well-executed game-winning touchdown pass from Brett Ratliff to Paul Raymond to provide the necessary points with six minutes left.

Twist it another way and the picture isn't as pretty. Twelve pena… More

Some Day-After QB Observations

File Under: Eric Mangini, Mike Nugent, Kellen Clemens, Brett Ratliff, Marcus Henry, Paul Raymond, Michael Kay

One more neat note on "The Other Brett." Brett Ratliff leads the NFL in passing yards.

Yeah, I know. There are three games to go tonight and Monday night, and leading the league in preseason passing yards plus, I'm guessing, $50,000 might get you an NFL MVP award on ebay.

"I like his progress," head coach Eric Mangini said after Saturday's 13-10 loss to the Redskins. "There were a couple of play… More
