STS*: Cole Fast Becoming Kick Cover Force

File Under: Drew Coleman, Rex Ryan, Danny Woodhead, Ahmad Carroll, Oakland Raiders, Dennis Thurman, Marquice Cole

Talk about jets. Marquice Cole was wearing them when he got last Sunday's game at Oakland off on the right foot with a big play on the opening kickoff.

"Drew Coleman made the tackle," Cole said. "But being able to cause that penalty put them in the hole. When a team has bad field position, which special teams can cause, you see what happens. It was a big play in the game, even though it was the f… More

DeVito: Jenks-Less D-Line Gets into the Flow

File Under: Jerricho Cotchery, Miami Dolphins, Mike DeVito, Rex Ryan, bye week, Kris Jenkins, Oakland Raiders, Shonn Greene

Sunday's best on the Left Coast for Mike DeVito came as he was cradling Calvin Pace's second strip sack of the game midway through the third quarter on the Oakland Coliseum grass.

Jets Ground & Pound Their Way to the Top

File Under: Miami Dolphins, Calvin Pace, Oakland Raiders, rushing offense

I just love saying "We're No. 1." And so this morning it's my pleasure to confirm that the Jets are the NFL's No. 1 rushing offense for the first time since 2004 and for only the sixth week since 1995.

As I mentioned in the last few days, it would've taken a 702-yard rushing game by the Redskins on Monday night to top the Jets for the most rushing yards per game. The 'Skins managed 62 yards again… More

The Madbacker on Leon, Calvin, 'Who to Hate'

File Under: Leon Washington, Miami Dolphins, Oakland Raiders, Bart Scott, Mark Sanchez

Injuries are an unfortunate part of life in the National Football League, but there are so many chilling stories that you never hear.

On Sunday in Oakland, Leon Washington took a handoff from Mark Sanchez early in the first quarter and was stopped by a pair of Raiders defenders after a 6-yard gain. Unfortunately Washington, a beloved figure on this team, suffered a compound fracture of the tibia … More
