AFCE: None Better in Division Than Patriots

File Under: Rodney Harrison, Bill Belichick, New England Patriots

This is the latest in a series of nine Radar entries over the next five weeks detailing trends in the AFC East, downward tendencies each division team wants to correct for the coming season and upward strides that each team wants to continue into 2009:

Rodney Harrison said it after the Patriots' 19-10 win over the Jets in the Gren & White's Game 2 home opener last year:

Game 2 vs. Pats: Good, Bad or Just Unusual?

File Under: New York Jets, New England Patriots, home opener, 2009 schedule

Some of us today are cheering: Yeah, the Patriots in the home opener again! Let's get Brady and company early! Some of us are jeering: The Pats in the home opener again? What's up with that, NFL?

File Under: Nick Mangold, New England Patriots, Vince Wilfork, John Clayton, Mark Sanchez

The Jets and Patriots have fought tooth and nail for a while now. The toothmarks at the Meadowlands have all been administered by the Patriots, but up in Foxboro, the Jets have hammered the Pats a few times: five road wins since Bill Belichick took over in 2000. No other team has more than three wins at Gillette in that time, and the rest of the league has only 14 wins at New England in those nine… More

Newest Jet Izzo Is a Specialist First Class

File Under: Miami Dolphins, Mike Westhoff, Rex Ryan, New England Patriots, Larry Izzo

The envelope, please. And the newest Jets unrestricted free agency signing is ... Larry Izzo.

Larry Izzo

That's correct. Izzo, NFL special teams royalty who has worn the aqua and coral of the Dolphins and the red, white and blue of the Patriots, will be donning green and white this season.

This news flew under the radar, but it's an interesting transaction just the same. We'll venture a guess that Izzo i… More
