LYONS: No Jumping Off the Bandwagon

File Under: New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, AFC East, San Francisco 49ers

I know everyone is disappointed in the performance Sunday against the Broncos. I am. The weather was bad, the officiating was bad, the Jets were bad.

But it's just one game in a long season of 16 games. The Jets still are 8-4, still in first place in the AFC East and control their own destiny.

If I wanted to beat the Jets up after their loss to Denver, where would I start? But I won't. They have… More

LYONS: Consistency Shining Through

File Under: New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, consistency

Wow, back-to-back wins on the road. First against last year's AFC champions, the New England Patriots, and Sunday against undefeated Tennessee. You're now 8-3 and there's only one team with a better record than the one you've got in the AFC, and guess what — it's the team you beat yesterday, the Titans at 10-1.

Keller, following up on a career-high 107-yard receiving day against the Rams, caught a per… More

EA: Up Next – Jets vs. 10-0 Titans

File Under: Shaun Ellis, Leon Washington, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans

When the Jets resume their schedule next weekend in Nashville, Tenn., they'll get a shot at the undefeated Tennessee Titans. The Titans improved to 10-0 early this evening, outscoring the Jaguars, 21-0, in the second half and winning on the road, 24-14.

At 7-3, the Jets are not only division leaders but they've completed their AFC East road slate unblemished with wins in Miami, Buffalo and New En… More

Some Thoughts for a Jets-Less Sunday

File Under: Eric Mangini, Jerricho Cotchery, Keyshawn Johnson, Wayne Chrebet, Al Toon, Laveranues Coles, Don Maynard, Ellis Hobbs, New England Patriots, George Sauer, Mickey Shuler

This is an odd week for the Jets and many fans. The franchise has played 10 times on Thursdays (six on Thanksgiving) and in the previous six times before Thursday night at New England, the Jets had lost and thus had a nice 10-day hiatus to stew over their defeat before taking it out on the next opponent.

Put another way, the 34-31 overtime win over the Patriots was the first time since the 1962 T… More
