SOS and Other Schedule Matters

File Under: New England, strength of schedule, 2008 opponents, schedule Patriots Jets

The NFL's master schedule won't be revealed, except for dribs and drabs and rumors, until April, but all teams have known their 2008 opponents for a month and a half. And if Jets fans haven't taken a look at the coming season's strength of schedule, you might want to send out an SOS.

The New England Patriots have the league's "easiest" schedule.

Power of 3: Giants, Pats Advance to XLII

File Under: patriots, Packers, Chargers, Giants, Junior Seau, New England, Tom Brady, Lawrence Tynes, Green Bay, San Diego

One of the most important numbers in the National Football League is three. And conference championship Sunday was all about the "trey."

Hot Passing, Past and Present

File Under: Chad Pennington, New England, Tom Brady, Phil Simms, Lynn Swann, Jets Giants

Baker Moved the Chains at NE

File Under: tennessee, Chad Pennington, New England, Chris Baker, Brian Schottenheimer, LP Field

Tennesseean Chad Pennington isn't the only one who will enjoy this weekend's business trip to Nashville. Chris Baker also loves the city, in part because the Titans fans love their football and in part because Baker helped beat them when he gathered in Pennington's 12-yard pass for the winning score with 2:10 to play in last season's opener.

"I really enjoy playing on the road," Baker told me aft… More

Today's Practice Is Elemental

File Under: Snow, Eric Mangini, New England, Sean Ryan, Sione Pouha, Joe Kowalewski, Gillette Stadium

The sleet started to click off my second-floor window here at the Weeb around 10 this morning. Soon the wet snow started to float down. You could see some fat flakes on the heads of players who would go outside and then come back into the locker room.

One player was hopeful the Jets' practice would be moved into the practice bubble. But that was so Miami week. As an equipment man told him: "It's … More
