WR Omens: Clowney Growth, Better Health

File Under: Brad Smith, Jerricho Cotchery, Justin Miller, Miami Dolphins, Rex Ryan, David Clowney, Braylon Edwards, Danny Woodhead

As an undercard to today's Rex report, we bring you some excerpts from wideout David Clowney's new blog. On his first pro regular-season touchdown reception, the 35-yard man-beater from Mark Sanchez at Oakland, he said:

"I almost came to tears on the sideline. I’ve been waiting on that thing for three years. All the times I’ve shined in the preseason, I finally got an opportunity in the regular … More

Ryan Urges Caution: Tough Game Ahead

File Under: Leon Washington, Miami Dolphins, Rex Ryan, Ronnie Brown, Chad Henne, Ricky Williams, Mark Sanchez

Rex Ryan quoted a certain Miami running back in the opening remarks to his news conference today. If you thought there was a subtle message there, you're probably right.

As I mentioned in the last few days, it would've taken a 702-yard rushing game by the Redskins on Monday night to top the Jets for the most rushing yards per game. The 'Skins managed 62 yards again… More

The Madbacker on Leon, Calvin, 'Who to Hate'

File Under: Leon Washington, Miami Dolphins, Oakland Raiders, Bart Scott, Mark Sanchez

Injuries are an unfortunate part of life in the National Football League, but there are so many chilling stories that you never hear.

On Sunday in Oakland, Leon Washington took a handoff from Mark Sanchez early in the first quarter and was stopped by a pair of Raiders defenders after a 6-yard gain. Unfortunately Washington, a beloved figure on this team, suffered a compound fracture of the tibia … More
