Bowens, Sub Package Are Coming On

File Under: Matt Chatham, Kerry Rhodes, David Bowens, nickel dime

Some fans have wondered over the past two years why reporters frequently quote non-starters such as David Bowens and Matt Chatham. It's not just because both Jets linebackers are good guys, which they are. It's because they're good talkers, good at knowing what to say and what not to say, but saying it in an interesting, informative manner.

They're good at the BP. Not the Bill Parcells but the Bi… More

Jets-Cowboys: Second Quarter

File Under: Snow, Matt Chatham, Tony Romo, Jason Witten

Snow has actually begun to drift lightly down through the hole in the Texas Stadium roof, although it's not reaching the field.

So slippery footing isn't the excuse when Tony Romo finds TE Jason Witten past Matt Chatham, just in the game at OLB, and too far away from Kerry Rhodes. It's a 25-yard scoring pass, Witten's sixth of the season. And while it's too early for the Jets to throw in the to… More

No. 58 Back in the Old Familiar Places

File Under: Matt Chatham, Brad Smith, special teams, Wallace Wright, Terrence McGee, opening kickoff

Special Teams Saturday on newyorkjets.com welcomes the return of one of the Green & White's "teams" stalwarts to action. There on last Sunday's opening kickoff, third man from the left end of the line, No. 58 was back in one of his elements.

"I wasn't real sentimental about it. I was just getting back to work," Matt Chatham said. But, he said, warming to the topic, "As a player, you kind of like … More

Jets-Bills: First Quarter

File Under: Chad Pennington, David Harris, Matt Chatham, Brad Smith, Mike Nugent

A prediction that Mike Nugent, with the wind, might put the opening kickoff into the first row doesn't pan out, but Nuge does put the kickoff into the end zone. Terrence McGee takes the kick out and is met at his 24 by No. 58. Remember him? Matt Chatham makes the tackle on his first play of the season after being activated from PUP the day before.

The Bills move down the field against the wind be… More

Harris as a Starter Is No Stretch

File Under: Jacob Bender, David Harris, Matt Chatham, Mike DeVito, Sal Alosi

It's a beautiful day for the Jets-Bills game at the New Jersey Meadowlands, mostly sunny, temps in the upper 50s. The wind is a bit gusty, though, which could play havoc with the kicking games — and, with any luck for the Green & White, with the passes of rookie QB Trent Edwards, who is making his first NFL road start after three home starts at equally gusty Ralph Wilson Stadium.

The early Jets… More
