Tui's Big Ben Impression Helped the Cause

File Under: Steelers, Marques Tuiasosopo, Kerry Rhodes, C.J. Mosley, Ben Roethlisberger

Variations on the concept were heard throughout the Jets locker room after their 19-16 smelting of the Steelers on Sunday, references to "complementary football" and "collective effort."

And there was no bigger under-the-radar contributor to the collective effort of the win than Marques Tuiasosopo.

Marques? The third quarterback? How did he chime in?

Why, all last week "Tui" played the role of … More

A Confluence of Quarterbacks

File Under: Eagles, Chad Pennington, Marques Tuiasosopo, Kellen Clemens

It was an interesting quarterback committee in the Jets' locker room at the Linc following their 13-11 comeback win over the host Eagles.

Marques Tuiasosopo was holding court as he hadn't all season, and why shouldn't he? Even though his passing numbers were unimpressive (9-for-16, 78 yards, two sacks, 69.3 rating), his play loomed very large in the win as he tucked the ball in and scored the Je… More

Jets-Eagles: Fourth Quarter

File Under: Chansi Stuckey, Marques Tuiasosopo, Mike Nugent

And the Jets are on the board! Marques Tuiasosopo, flushed up in the pocket by the Eagles' outside rush, tucks the ball and takes off. No slide here — Tui fights his way through two defenders burst into the end zone. Even 12 Eagles on the field don't prevent Mike Nugent's extra point, and it's 10-3, Jets, seven seconds into the final period.

Sorry, technical difficulties there for a few minutes… More

Jets-Eagles: Third Quarter

File Under: Chansi Stuckey, Anthony Schlegel, Marques Tuiasosopo, Ben Graham, Sav Rocca

Marques Tuiasosopo is the third QB in for the Jets and his first pass is crisp, down the field, on the money — and dropped by WR Chris Davis on the deep in-cut. Another Ben Grahm punt.

The Jets defense, with Anthony Schlegel playing inside with Blake Costanzo in the base and on at LB in the dime, slows the Philly offense at the Jets' 45. Sav Rocca, the former Australian Rules football player wh… More
