No Cotchery, B.Smith, Sheppard for Oakland

File Under: Brad Smith, Jerricho Cotchery, Rex Ryan, Braylon Edwards, Lito Sheppard, Oakland Raiders, Oakland Coliseum

Rex Ryan had been optimistic all week about Jerricho Cotchery's availability for Sunday's game at the Raiders. But Cotchery still hadn't practiced at all in team drills this week.

So today, on an accelerated schedule before the Jets board buses this afternoon to get to Newark Liberty Airport and fly out to Oakland, Ryan said at his news conference that Cotchery, along with fellow WR Brad Smith an… More

Today's Practice Powered by More Energy

File Under: Jerricho Cotchery, James Ihedigbo, Wallace Wright, Rex Ryan, Marques Murrell, Lito Sheppard, Kris Jenkins, Mark Sanchez

What was the good word today? "Energy." It returned to the Jets' equation at today's midday practice, and one day after head coach Rex Ryan said something was missing at Wednesday's workout, he proclaimed today's session "excellent."

File Under: Brad Smith, Jerricho Cotchery, Rex Ryan, Lito Sheppard, Donald Strickland

Like the stock market, some of the Jets' injured players are trending upward, some are not. And some are not quite as bad as had been reported earlier today.

The up news is that cornerback Lito Sheppard, who's missed 3½ games with a quadriceps injury, practiced full again today and is ready to return just in time for him and Darrelle Revis to take on Terrell Owens, Lee Evans and the Bills.

Cotchery Rests Again, Questionable for MNF

File Under: Jerricho Cotchery, Miami Dolphins, injury report, Joey Porter, Braylon Edwards, Lito Sheppard, Damien Woody, Donald Strickland, Kerry Rhdoes

At this morning's practice, wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery (hamstring) didn't practice for the second day this week and is listed as questionable for the Jets' Monday night game at Miami.

The "questionable" designation means there's a 50/50 chance a player can play his team's upcoming game. The Jets are hopeful to be able to pair Cotchery and newly acquired WR Braylon Edwards in the offense for … More
