Franks Finds the End Zone at OTA Practice

File Under: Chad Pennington, David Harris, James Ihedigbo, Kellen Clemens, Kerry Rhodes, Brett Ratliff, Terrell Owens, Bubba Franks

Bubba Franks made his presence felt at today's OTA practice.

Every time you looked up, Franks, the 6'6", 265-pound tight end who came over from the Packers as a street free agent in March, was snagging a pass for six.

There were some nice snatches at helmet level or above from Chad Pennington in red zone drills. There was No. 88 reaching for a "touchdown" in the corner of the end zone on a zip… More

Green & White Show Their Belief in Kerry

File Under: David Harris, Kerry Rhodes, Kris Jenkins, contract extension

The NFL's slogan for 2008 is "Believe In Now." The Jets, in their approach to this year's free agency and trading period, appear to have bought into that. But they also have expressed faith in the future with the signing of safety Kerry Rhodes to a contract extension.

Two Rookies with the Right Stuff

File Under: Darrelle Revis, David Harris, Kerry Rhodes, passes defensed, tackles for loss

You don't need me to tell you Darrelle Revis and David Harris were two excellent rookies, but I had that assertion underscored for me as I completed the compilation of my defensive stats for the season.

Harris led the Jets, of course, in total tackles with 117 by the coaches' video breakdown, with all of them coming from Game 3 on since he wasn't used much on defense in the first two games.

And… More

Looking Back, Looking Ahead

File Under: Chad Pennington, Eric Mangini, Laveranues Coles, Kerry Rhodes, Leon Washington

Happy New Year.

That sentiment was issued a few times at Weeb Ewbank Hall today, both as a holiday greeting and coincidentally as a wish for better times for the Jets on this interface day between the disappointing 2007 season just ended and the hopes for the 2008 that is just ahead.

The ritual for "baggie day" the day after an NFL season ends is for all players to take trash bags to lockers, sa… More
