Minicamp Was Valuable to These 2 Tryouts

File Under: OTAs, Kenyon Coleman, Antwun Williams, Albany Conquest, Zach Catanese

In surfing the Web this afternoon, I came across stories on two of the tryout invitees to last weekend's Jets rookie minicamp.

The Albany Conquest are happy to have WR Antwun Williams back in the fold. Williams (6'2", 185) is the arenafootball2 team's top receiver with 28 catches and nine touchdowns. He had to take a game off to participate in the minicamp, and Albany suffered a 61-49 loss to Ten… More

Kris Jenkins Plays the Game with Heart

File Under: Carolina Panthers, David Harris, Shaun Ellis, Kenyon Coleman, Kris Jenkins

The Jets defense got better today. Draft picks are nice, but you weren’t going to find a 6’4”, 349-pound NT who can anchor your front come April. Kris Jenkins has the ability to be a dominant nose in the 3-4 and his passion for football is undeniable.

Jenkins is a three-time Pro Bowler, having earned trips while a member of the Carolina Panthers in 2002, ’03 and ’06. Injuries limited him to… More

Jets-Cowboys: First Quarter

File Under: Kellen Clemens, Kerry Rhodes, Kenyon Coleman, Julius Jones, Tony Romo

The Jets open on defense, and on the game's second play from scrimmage, former Cowboys DE Kenyon Coleman makes a nice stop of no gain on Julius Jones.

But then the Jets defense gives up chunks of yards: 17 yards from Tony Romo to new third WR Miles Austin in front of Andre Dyson on third-and-9, a 19-yard burst off left tackle by Julius, 13 yards from Romo to Terrell Owens on Darrelle Revis.

Jets-Eagles: First Quarter

File Under: Thomas Jones, Mike Nugent, Kenyon Coleman, Donovan McNabb, Kevin Curtis

We're under way and so is Thomas Jones, big-time. On the Jets' first play from scrimmage, Jones follows FB Darian Barnes up the middle, bounces from left to right and, with D'Brickashaw Ferguson and Nick Mangold sealing off the Eagles' pursuit, TJ is rolling. He isn't taken down until after a 36-yard gain.

The last time the Jets had a longer run was when Curtis Martin peeled off a pair of 40-yard… More

Trying to Make Them Feel Like Rookies

File Under: Kenyon Coleman, Marshawn Lynch, Trent Edwards, Jim Kelly, Steve McNair

Respect for the opponent is one of the cornerstones of any successful NFL franchise, and that's something that Jets DE Kenyon Coleman, along with all his other defensive teammates, has for the Bills offense with the rookies in key places that the Green & White expects to face Sunday.

"Against quality players, you've got to bring your 'A' game," Coleman told me in the middle of a Friday locker roo… More
