Mike T Again Demonstrates His Trade Craft

File Under: Mike Tannenbaum, Eric Mangini, Kenyon Coleman, Brett Ratliff, Abram Elam, Rex Ryan, Mark Sanchez, Marques Douglas.

There is certainly a number of competing opinions about the Jets' tradeup and drafting of QB Mark Sanchez today. I understand the Green & White fan and media base. As Rodney Dangerfield would say sweatingly as he pulled on his collar, "Tough crowd ... tough crowd."

But I've also learned to trust in a few things with the Jets. The team's scouting department, headed by Joey Clinkscales, knows what … More

Stats to Get Us Through the Winter Nights

File Under: Thomas Jones, Curtis Martin, Laveranues Coles, Kerry Rhodes, Brandon Moore, Kenyon Coleman, Brett Favre, Dustin Keller, Kris Jenkins

The snow is gradually retreating from the turf field outside my second-floor window here at the Atlantic Health Training Center, slowly revealing the ghostly upside-down yardline numbers on the far side of the field. At first the numbers were gauzy under a thin layer of snow. Now late this afternoon, under a low, gray sky, they're more visible, at least until darkness descends.

TC: Transplanted Jets Feel the Love

File Under: Meadowlands, Kenyon Coleman, Fan Appreciation Day, Damien Woody, Bubba Franks, Green Out

A victory over the Bills on Sunday would add to the excitement of this week’s Fan Appreciation Day — when fans are being asked to wear green for the first ever "Green Out" and will have the chance to win great prizes. One person will even have chance to kick a field goal at halftime for $150,000.

“It’ll be nice to see a green wave out there on Sunday,” said TE Bubba Franks, who started his ca… More

The Inspiration Behind Coleman's Trip

File Under: Chad Pennington, Kenyon Coleman, Adam Ybarra, Uganda Burundi

On Tuesday afternoon, we caught up with Kenyon Coleman and discussed his recent 13-day trip to the African nations of Burundi and Uganda. The Coleman feature is live on newyorkjets.com, but we thought you’d also be interested in some information we gathered from Oakland Raiders team chaplain Adam Ybarra.

Coleman, who is a starting defensive end for the Jets, originally met Ybarra more than six … More

Minicamp Was Valuable to These 2 Tryouts

File Under: OTAs, Kenyon Coleman, Antwun Williams, Albany Conquest, Zach Catanese

In surfing the Web this afternoon, I came across stories on two of the tryout invitees to last weekend's Jets rookie minicamp.

The Albany Conquest are happy to have WR Antwun Williams back in the fold. Williams (6'2", 185) is the arenafootball2 team's top receiver with 28 catches and nine touchdowns. He had to take a game off to participate in the minicamp, and Albany suffered a 61-49 loss to Ten… More
