Six Days Away to Set Up the 8 Weeks Ahead

File Under: Rex Ryan, bye week, Braylon Edwards, Tony Dungy, Damien Woody, Danny Woodhead, Jim Leonhard, Marques Douglas

Today's Rex Ryan news conference and locker room player interviews were predominantly two sides of the same coin: the long bye week ahead, and, following the 30-25 loss to Miami on Sunday to fall to 4-4, what the Jets can do with the second half of their season once they return.

File Under: Rex Ryan, Calvin Pace, Oakland Raiders, JaMarcus Russell, Jim Leonhard

“I give a lot of credit to growing up playing baseball,” Leonhard said from the Jets locker room on Friday. “You develop that hand/eye coordination and you get comfortable catching the ball on the run during baseball. That’s helped my returning skills.”

Next on Agenda: Green & White Scrimmage

File Under: Darrelle Revis, training camp, Rex Ryan, Jim Leonhard, Bart Scott, SUNY Cortland, Green & White Scrimmage

The Jets held a closed light morning practice at SUNY Cortland this morning, and now the focus shifts to the Green & White Scrimmage, which is set to begin at 6 p.m. today.

"The Green and White game, I think, is a good chance for everybody to get a little evaluation of where they’re at," said QB Kellen Clemens, who has taken the majority of first-team reps on offense. "For me it’s all about compl… More
