Special Attention at the Rookie Minicamp

File Under: Eric Mangini, David Harris, James Dearth, Ben Graham, Jeremy Kapinos, Bob Sutton, Bryan Cox, Vernon Gholston, Kevin O'Dea, Dustin Keller, Danny Woodhead

The air was a little brisk, in the upper 50s perhaps, for this morning's third practice of the Jets' weekend rookie minicamp, leading to this exchange between defensive coaches:

Bryan Cox: "Bob, you look cold."

Bob Sutton: "It's linemen's weather."

It was also special teams weather, at least for much of the 40 minutes of media availability. And while the Jets' 50 draft picks, undrafted free age… More

Herm's in the House; Graham to Punt

File Under: Herm Edwards, Kellen Clemens, Ben Graham, Jeremy Kapinos

One personnel question for the Jets has already been answered as they head into today's Herm Bowl against Herm Edwards, their former coach, and the Kansas City Chiefs in less than an hour:

Ben Graham will be punting again.

Graham, a healthy deactivation in favor of Jeremy Kapinos for last week's game at Tennessee, is on the field today, going through his pregame warmups as he had in 47 of the pr… More

Kapinos: One and Done or Take Two?

File Under: Ben Graham, Jeremy Kapinos, Kansas City, Penn State, Meadowlands Westhoff Nugent

"I think it was the same way my freshman year of college. Once that first one … More

Jets-Titans: First Quarter

File Under: Chad Pennington, Victor Hobson, Jerricho Cotchery, Jeremy Kapinos, Vince Young

Tennessee fans and no doubt the Titans themselves are already fired up before Mike Nugent's opening kickoff, since the Bengals have held off the Browns, 19-14. That leaves open the door for the Titans to beat the Jets and catch the Browns at 9-6 in the fight for the AFC's last wild card.

The Titans open up with fire on offense, moving to the Jets 37. But then Vince Young bogs down, and on third d… More

Kapinos, Not Graham, Will Punt, Hold

File Under: Adrien Clarke, Ben Graham, Jeremy Kapinos, Will Montgomery, Kevin Mawae

The Jets are shaking up two positions on their roster for their game against the Tennessee Titans that starts in about an hour.

A major change involves Ben Graham being deactivated for the first time in his three seasons as the Jets punter. The punting duties will be handled by Jeremy Kapinos, recently signed to the practice squad and this week promoted to the active roster.

Kapinos is on the LP… More
