Jets-Giants: First Quarter

File Under: Chad Pennington, Darrelle Revis, Jacob Bender, David Barrett, Leon Washington

FIRST QUARTER

And the Jets are flying. After winning the toss, the Green & White get the opening kickoff, with Brad Smith the single returner and getting the return only to the Jets 21.

Then Chad Pennington fattened up his thin passer rating with a brilliant first play from scrimmage, spotting Leon Washington out of the backfield and turned loose down the right sideline. Pennington pumpfaked, th… More

Jets Are All White for the Giants

File Under: Giants, Darrelle Revis, Jacob Bender, Kellen Clemens, white jerseys, white pants

The Radar is open for business as the 39th opening kickoff of the summer series between the Giants and the Jets is about a half-hour away. Focused on One Thing All Weekend

File Under: draft, Mike Tannenbaum, Darrelle Revis, Jacob Bender, Eric Mangini, Chansi Stuckey, Randy Moss, 2007 NFL Draft

The Jets' strange draft is over, and Mike Tannenbaum and Eric Mangini seem pleased and not too tired after the way it all unfolded — two first-day tradeups for top defensive players, two late second-day stay-at-home picks for lesser known offensive players.

In a little banter to capture the mood, Dave Hutchinson of the Star-Ledger asked Tannenbaum, "With this draft, Mike, how did you change you… More

Drive and Desire in Round 6

File Under: draft, Jacob Bender, DeMatha High School, sixth-round pick, 2007 NFL Draft

It's been a quiet Day Two for the Green & White so far. But the quiet ended a few minutes ago when the team took the latest player to have core Jet values stamped all over him.

Jacob Bender, the sixth-round pick on Sunday afternoon, was a team captain at Division I-AA Nicholls State in southeastern Louisiana.

And he's a self-made, blue-collar guy. One memory he has from growing up in Maryland, … More
